How to Protect PDF with PDNob - User Guide
Protecting PDF documents is crucial when handling confidential or sensitive information. PDNob PDF Editor offers effective tools to manage access and safeguard your content, whether it’s business reports, legal files, or personal data.
On a PC, you can effortlessly add passwords, define permission restrictions, remove existing protection, and manage document security in just a few steps. Follow the instructions below to protect your PDFs efficiently using PDNob PDF Editor.
1. Adding an Open Password
An open password restricts access to your PDF, requiring anyone who attempts to open the file to enter the correct password first.
- Open your PDF file in PDNob PDF Editor.
- Click Protect on the top toolbar to access security options.
- Choose Password and set your Open Password to secure the PDF.
2. Setting a Permissions Password
A permissions password (also called a master password) lets you control how others can interact with your PDF. You can restrict actions such as editing, printing, or copying content.
Within the Encrypt settings, two main options appear: "Open PDF" and "Set editing and page extraction password". The latter allows you to configure specific permissions.
You can define limitations for actions like printing, copying text, adding comments, inserting or deleting pages, and filling forms based on your requirements.
3. Removing Passwords or Permissions
If a PDF already has password protection or permission restrictions, you can remove them in PDNob PDF Editor, provided you have the correct credentials.
- Open the secured PDF and enter the password to access the file.
- Access the Encrypt settings and uncheck "Set open password" to remove protection.
- Confirm your changes and click Save to finalize removal of passwords or restrictions.
